Hair Pulling and Skin Picking

You may think that you are completely alone in your struggles with hair pulling (Trichotillomania) and skin picking (excoriation disorder). You may have bald patches or areas of your body with scarring due to skin picking that you cover with makeup, clothing or other means. Conditions like these, make mundane tasks frightening – something as simple as getting a haircut becomes terrifying.

Although it might be embarrassing to even admit that this is an issue you have, it may surprise you that these conditions – referred as body focused repetitive behaviours- are quite common.
